Ductless Mini-Splits

A ductless mini-split is the clean answer for the rooms ductwork forgot — the converted garage, the sunroom over the carport, the upstairs bedroom that never got its own branch, the historic Florence home where running new duct would wreck the plaster.

Technician setting outdoor equipment during a mini-split installation

One small outdoor unit, one sleek wall head, a three-inch hole for the line set. Heating and cooling both, controlled independently in each zone.

What this covers

  • Single-room and multi-zone system design
  • Garage, sunroom, and addition conditioning
  • Older and historic home retrofits
  • Line-set routing and concealment
  • Condensate planning
  • Remote and app-control setup

Shoals notes

In Sheffield and Tuscumbia's older housing stock, mini-splits routinely solve the one-hot-room problem without touching the rest of a working central system.

Questions we get

Can a mini-split heat a whole house?
Multi-zone systems can, and in some electric-heated homes that is a genuine upgrade. The honest answer depends on the envelope and layout — we measure and tell you, including where central still makes more sense.
Do mini-splits need maintenance?
The wall heads have washable filters that need monthly rinsing in heavy-use seasons, and the outdoor unit benefits from the same coil care as any condenser. An annual checkover keeps them efficient.
